Education

One of the goals of the Human-Environmental Systems Research Center is to create and propose changes in university education programs.

This includes:

  • Integrating the Center of excellence with doctoral school programs conducted at the Faculty of Geography and Geology of the Jagiellonian University and preparing a long-term framework for joint doctoral programs within and outside the consortium, creating opportunities for the development of broad and deep T-shaped skills, i.e., a broad understanding of human-environmental systems issues combined with deep specialization in a given field.
  • Preparing a framework for research-oriented master’s programs in English (so-called Research Master), attracting ambitious international students and increasing student involvement in research projects to attract career-oriented students and provide perspective candidates for doctoral studies.
